"Fill your life with the green goodness of Matcha" 💚
Nana's Green Tea
The concept of Nana's is to bring the authenticity of matcha from Japan to Vancouver with a modern twist that suits the lifestyle of modern people. I usually don't like matcha but Nana's different. It's not too sweet so you don't get nauseous, and you can taste a bit of the bitterness from the matcha so you know that it's real matcha.
Not only matcha, their other specialty is in Hojicha — distinctive from other Japanese green teas because it's roasted in a porcelain pot over charcoal, whereas most Japanese green tea are steamed. Nana's serve different kinds of desserts, like parfaits and soft serves; different kinds of beverages — matcha latte base, hojicha latte base, matcha base, japanese tea, matcha latte frappe base, azuki latte base (sweet red bean paste with milk), and coffee. Surprisingly, Nana's also serve savoury food, Donburi with miso soup and Dashi Chazuke (rice in bonito dashi stock with savoury toppings).
A few weeks ago, Nana's released matcha and hojicha fondue. You have to do reservation 24 hours prior to the day you're coming in order to book a spot. Imagine just having a bite of Nana's freshest strawberries, orange, kiwi, and banana, paired up with Belgian waffles, cream puffs, lemon and ginger biscuits, and marshmallow, dipped in matcha and hojicha.
Every season, Nana's have special menu. For Spring, they have Nana's Strawberry Sakura, which only available from February 5th to April 10th. So what are you waiting for? Go and taste the fabulous sensation of Spring in Japan!
