A husband and wife flower shop at Main Street

Cream Mint florist is a small Vancouver based flower shop located in Main Street. It was founded by husband and wife, Gordon and Wen Wen who came all the way from China eleven years ago.

The passion towards flowers started when Wen Wen was working as a sales person at a skincare store in Downtown Vancouver. Once in a while, the skincare store has events where some of the loyal customers would bring fresh flower bouquets — most of the time, Wen Wen is the one who received them. The flower arrangements that they got from customers will be displayed in store and the employees will take care of them. She felt really happy whenever she get the chance to take care of the flowers, or even just watching them.

"I love skincare, but at that time I love flowers even more. I want to share the happiness that I got with others by making flower arrangements for them", said Wen Wen.

She quits her job and learned basic flower skills. It wasn't easy at first but she enjoyed it. After couple months practicing, she joined a flower shop in West Vancouver — West Van Florist. In that flower shop, you have to be very talented. People that work there have years of experience in flower design. They were kind enough that they taught Wen Wen about the things that they learned.

After few years learning at West Van, she finally took a big step to open up her own florist shop. It wasn't easy at first with the license and how to get new customers, but Wen Wen and her husband never give up. Now, lots of people order flowers from her, almost on daily basis because there are people who love to have flowers at their home all the time to brighten up the room. Because Cream Mint doesn't sell basic flowers, they sell special kinds of flowers, even the dried ones.

On Valentine's day, Cream Mint could get until a hundred or even more orders — that doesn't include the walk-ins. Valentine's day is the most happiest day according to Wen Wen, because she can see a lot of guys do romantic things to their girlfriend/wife and even hear stories about it.
